MISSION STATEMENT
At The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mission of our religious education program is to plant a seed of faith in the youth of our parish that, with nurturing and love by the child and their family, will continually grow and develop into a pillar of strength, direction, and guidance for them to rely on and trust in throughout their lives. We want to instill in them a lifelong yearning toward a deeper faith, and a realization of the importance of making Jesus Christ a fundamental partner in their lives. Our dedicated catechists and youth ministers, all work together in partnership to ensure our youth are receiving the best opportunities possible to enrich their Catholic faith.
Thank you for your interest in our Religious Education program. We assist families in providing children with the knowledge, understanding, and example necessary to live their life based upon Catholic doctrine, tradition, and values. Through age appropriate activities we share our love of our faith and our love for God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit. The effectiveness of our program assumes the cooperation and working relationship between the parents and the teachers.
Our primary goal is to assist parents in the faith formation and sacramental preparation of their children in a safe and nurturing environment. We strive to provide a quality program for students in Pre-K-4 through 8th grade Confirmation.
As mandated by the Archdiocese of Miami, students preparing to receive the sacraments must attend a two (2) consecutive year preparation program. Pre-K and Kindergarten classes do not apply towards this requirement. Traditionally students preparing for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion attend classes in first and second and receive the sacrament during second grade. For children in grades three through eight who desire to receive these sacraments we offer a Special Sacraments class.
Confirmation requires two consecutive years of formal religious instruction. Visitation offers this program in 7th and 8th grade with the students receiving the sacrament during eighth grade. We also provide a comprehensive one year RCIA program for High School students and adults who wish to become Catholics.
If you would like to be involved in our Religious Education Ministry as a catechist, assistant catechist, or volunteer, please request an Archdiocese of Miami Volunteer form. All volunteers who work directly with students are required to complete this form, be interviewed by our Director of Religious Education, be fingerprinted and complete a Virtus training class. This procedure helps create a safe environment for your child. Volunteer in Religious Education and help a child grow in faith. Application forms are available in the Religious Education Office.

En La Iglesia de la Visitación de la Santísima Virgen María, la misión de nuestro programa de educación religiosa es plantar una semilla de fe en los jóvenes de nuestra parroquia que, con el cuidado y el amor del niño y su familia, crecerá y se desarrollará continuamente hasta convertirse en un pilar de fortaleza, dirección y guía en el que puedan confiar durante toda su vida. Queremos inculcarles un anhelo permanente hacia una fe más profunda y la comprensión de la importancia de hacer de Jesucristo un socio fundamental en sus vidas. Nuestros dedicados catequistas y ministros juveniles trabajan juntos para garantizar que nuestros jóvenes reciban las mejores oportunidades posibles para enriquecer su fe católica.
Gracias por su interés en nuestro programa de Educación Religiosa. Ayudamos a las familias a brindarles a los niños el conocimiento, la comprensión y el ejemplo necesarios para vivir su vida basándose en la doctrina, la tradición y los valores católicos. A través de actividades apropiadas para la edad compartimos nuestro amor por nuestra fe y nuestro amor por Dios, el Padre, Dios, el Hijo y Dios, el Espíritu Santo. La efectividad de nuestro programa asume la cooperación y relación de trabajo entre los padres y los maestros.
Nuestro objetivo principal es ayudar a los padres en la formación de la fe y la preparación sacramental de sus hijos en un ambiente seguro y enriquecedor. Nos esforzamos por ofrecer un programa de calidad para estudiantes desde Pre-K-4 hasta Confirmación de 8.º grado.
Según lo dispuesto por la Arquidiócesis de Miami, los estudiantes que se preparan para recibir los sacramentos deben asistir a un programa de preparación de dos (2) años consecutivos. Las clases de Pre-K y Kindergarten no aplican para este requisito.
Tradicionalmente, los estudiantes que se preparan para los sacramentos de la Reconciliación y la Primera Comunión asisten a clases en primero y segundo y reciben el sacramento durante el segundo grado. Para los niños de tercer a octavo grado que deseen recibir estos sacramentos, ofrecemos una clase de Sacramentos Especiales.
La Confirmación requiere dos años consecutivos de instrucción religiosa formal. Visitation ofrece este programa en 7.º y 8.º grado y los estudiantes reciben la Confirmación durante el octavo grado. También ofrecemos un programa integral de RICA de un año para estudiantes de secundaria y adultos que deseen convertirse en católicos.
Si desea participar en nuestro Ministerio de Educación Religiosa como catequista, catequista asistente o voluntario, solicite un formulario de Voluntario de la Arquidiócesis de Miami. Todos los voluntarios que trabajan directamente con los estudiantes deben completar este formulario, ser entrevistados por nuestro Director de Educación Religiosa, tomarse las huellas digitales y completar una clase de capacitación Virtus. Este procedimiento ayuda a crear un entorno seguro para su hijo. Sea voluntario en Educación Religiosa y ayude a un niño a crecer en la fe. Los formularios de solicitud están disponibles en la Oficina de Educación Religiosa.
